Core Values - B.U.I.L.D.

Five (5) BUILDing Blocks of Bridge Community Church

We are committed to our core values and believe they are the key building blocks to achieving our

mission.

1. Biblical Truth

We believe God's Word remains unwavering and without error.

“16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy

3:16-17

2. Unconditional Love

We believe in loving without limits because Jesus first loved us.

“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

3. Intentional Generosity

We believe God has generously blessed us so we can be a blessing to others.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. (Proverbs 11:25)

4. Living In Community

We believe we are divinely designed for community and grow stronger together.

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all

the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

5. Devotion to Prayer

We believe prayer deepens our relationship with God and invites His presence and power.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13)

Where we came from

Bridge Community Church began through a shared vision of two churches to reach their community.

Understanding that God has chosen the Church to represent His love for mankind (Ephesians 3:10 & 11), the leadership of these churches recognized they would be more effective in accomplishing their mission by working together than by working apart.

After much prayer and discussion the two churches became one and in January 2009, Bridge Community Church was born.

where we are heading

Mission:

Bridge Community Church exists to help people thrive by finding and following Jesus.

Beliefs:

BCC is affiliated with the Assemblies of God and teaches in accordance with the beliefs of the fellowship. Our core beliefs are as follows:

Salvation Through Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ has bridged the gap between mankind and God by bearing our sins through his sacrificial death on the cross. Through recognizing our sins, faith in His death and assurance of His resurrection we believe anyone can be in restored relationship with God. Yes, anyone. (John 3:16; Rom 10:8-13)

Divine Healing: Divine healing is an integral part of the salvation message of Jesus Christ. Though we do not understand why God physically heals some and not others, we believe healing is still relevant for today as God apportions (Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:16,17; James 5:14-16).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit: As a result of our salvation, we believe God has given every believer His Holy Spirit to help us live a life honoring to God. The Holy Spirit serves as a counselor and is a deposit, reminding us of the hope we have to one day be in unhindered relationship with God (2 Cor 1:21-22; John 14:15-27).

Second Coming of Christ: In the same way Jesus left the earth, our hope is in the truth that He will one day return for all who have put their trust in Him, past and present. The truth of His return is referred in The Bible as ‘The Blessed Hope’ (Titus 2:13, 1 Thes 4:16-17).
