Faith verses

We believe that God's Word is alive and active, and that the Bible has real relevance for us in our daily lives.  Just as the Apostle Paul says in Romans, we ought to "be transformed by the renewing of our minds" by the Word of the Lord (Romans 12:2).  But if we don't know the Word, how can we apply it to ourselves and our situations, let alone be transformed by it?  That's why, as part of our journey through the Bible Engagement Project, we have been encouraging our kids, students, and adults to memorize scripture together.  Below are all of the faith verses our church family has learned so far!

tips to help memorize scripture

  1. Say it out loud!  We memorize better when we don't just repeat things in our head, but actually say them aloud.
  2. Write it down...  Then write it again!  The act of writing and rewriting verses by hand helps us to memorize them.
  3. Make a game out of it!  Challenge your family or church friends to see who can recite a verse fastest or most correctly just based on the scripture reference, or for a solo game, write down each of the individual words on notecards, mix the words up, and see how quickly you can put together the words of the verse in the right order.
